Make a Holiday tradition with this easy to make Holiday Faux Cardboard Fireplace
My husband built a fake cardboard fireplace for our granddaughter’s 1st Christmas in 2014. To my surprise this fake fireplace made our living room so cozy! Now I want a real fireplace.
LOL He said we’d look into it. When we took the decorations down, I asked him what we were doing with the fireplace and he told me we were redoing the nursery so we can put the fireplace in there. What a great idea grandpa! 🙂
How to build a Cardboard Fireplace
My husband brought cardboard boxes home from his work, they measured to 3 feet tall. That was with the box on top of the other 2, not in between the 2. He used packing tape to keep the boxes together and then he measured out the inside to make a back for the fireplace. He painted it black for soot and it looks so real!
We searched for Red Brick Wrap everywhere, and finally found it on Amazon. We measured out the size we needed to cut the paper to, and then wrapped the boxes accordingly. The log was made out of newspaper wrapped in a brown paper bag and crinkled.
We then added brown paper crumpled on top for added effect. We lite the fireplace with electric candles we already had, however I am going to see if I can find something else if we use it next year. Purchased the stocking holders at the Dollar Tree.
This is our finished Faux Cardboard Fireplace with Christmas decorations next to our Christmas tree and gifts under the tree. It’s been a very long time since we’ve had so much under our tree! Next year there will be even more, as they will be a bit bigger! LOL
I’M GONNA MISS THE FIREPLACE AFTER CHRISTMAS! LOL
Santa bag came from Bed, Bath and Beyond. Although you can’t see it in the picture, I love that is says “Santa was here”! 🙂 I’ve been using it for 5 years now and it has become a Christmas tradition.
