Who is behind A Modern Grandma?
Hey there! I’m Sandra, a fun loving, tech savvy modern grandma from Louisiana! I have been a blogger since 2008. I have done a lot in the blogging world, freebies, recipes, reviews, giveaways and more. It’s a lot of fun, and it is also hard work. Yes work! I had no idea of all the perks my family and I would receive when I first started! I can honestly say I love my job.
After my granddaughter was born, I wanted a fun blog that my granddaughter could help me with. She was born July 16th 2014. Now that she is getting older, she wants to help Grandma work 😉 ♥
About My Family
My husband Brian and I live in Kenner, which is about 10 miles outside of New Orleans, Louisiana. We live right next door to our daughter and her family. It’s fantastic to see our family, especially our granddaughter every day!
I found a great guy on a blind date! ♥ He pushes me when I want to give up and he’s always there when I need him the most. The most devastating thing happened to me on August 30th, 2019 and he had to deliver the news to me at 6 AM. My mother passed away. I totally lost it and he took it all in and let me yell, cry and he talked me through my depression and anxiety. I don’t know if I will ever get over everything, but I know he is by my side as well as my family to help me move on.
Long story, short and Funny proposal: We talked about getting married, but it never worked out for us to do it. After 26 years, we finally said I DO!
Funny proposal: April 2009, he was sitting at the kitchen table and all of a sudden I heard the words “I wanted to marry you for your birthday (March 8th) but I just couldn’t get it together, but I want to marry you!” My reply “Are you serious?” He said yes, I replied “SWEET, GIVE ME 30 DAYS!” LOL We got married less than 30 days later!
Have a wonderful day!
